Between August of 2009 and June 2010 I had the privilege to live and study for my master's degree at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. During my stay in this incredible medieval city, I participated in a 100 photo challenge. I spent 10 days exploring every inch of the city and posted 10 photos a day. This collection is a sample of that project.

These photos are from a trip to visit my French host family, the Verdiers. They live in Malemort, France, just outside of Brive-la-gaillard and we took a trip to the coastal city of Royan.

A quick trip to London was perfect for New Year's Eve. The dreary weather encouraged me to shoot in black and white, capturing the quiet drama of the city.

I'm thankful for the time I've been able to spend in Italy with close friends and the photographic opportunities these trips have given me.

Piazza San Marco
A short and scenic boat ride from St. Mark's Square in Venice, the three islands of Murano, Burano, and Torcello are full of medieval history and tons of colour, even on a rainy afternoon.
A short trip to Warsaw, Krakow, Auschwitz and Birkenau produced some powerful photographs.
A business trip to Beijing and Shanghai was a breath of fresh air (other than the smog) and inspiration. It was truly an adventure that I will never forget.
A Lowcountry Advent
This project was an effort to observe advent with more focus. I took one photo a day from December 1-25 and paired it with a Christmas hymn. Photos were all taken on Hilton Head Island, SC.
